It doesn't pay to hang around A-Rod these days. A driver for the Yankees slugger was caught by cops driving the wrong way on a one-way street as he hustled to pick up Rodriguez after he bailed out of the All-Star game. Driver Jesus Falu, 50, was spotted by police just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday barreling the wrong way on River Ave. near Yankee Stadium in a black Chevrolet Suburban. "It was borderline reckless endangerment," said a police source. "He went up the wrong way. He was driving in a reckless manner." Falu was apparently rushing to pick up the embattled star, who left the game in the fifth inning when he was taken out after batting a disappointing 0 for 2. Police sources said Falu told cops he was trying to position himself to pick up Rodriguez. He was slapped with a reckless driving summons, police said. Falu, of Morningside Heights, has three minor traffic infractions on his record for obstructing an intersection and talking on a cell phone, records show. It was unclear how long he had been driving A-Rod, who usually drives himself around the city. On a recent Yankee road trip to Toronto, Rodriguez hired a chauffeur for him, his wife, Cynthia, and their 3-year-old daughter. The last weeks have been hard ones for anyone associated with A-Rod. Cynthia, 35, filed for divorce last week, citing "his long period of infidelity." A-Rod was linked to Madonna in a relationship that C-Rod's lawyers called "an affair of the heart." Rodriguez has also been accused of cheating on his estranged wife with a string of strippers - including one who was busted by Boston-area cops on a musty warrant after she blabbed about their affair.
